TalkDock support, bug reporting, and safe diagnostic sharing

Official support guidance for TalkDock Free 1.1.6 and TalkDock Pro 1.1.6.

This page explains how to ask for help, what to include in a useful report, what the Report-a-Bug modal sends, and how Pro license or lead issues should be handled.

Do not send passwords, private keys, payment data, customer secrets, or sensitive screenshots through support messages.

Before contacting support

Most support cases are resolved faster when the report includes the exact steps needed to reproduce the issue, the expected result, and the actual result. Include whether the issue affects the floating button, shortcode, admin settings, Pro license, business hours, agents, targeting, analytics, or offline leads.

  • Confirm the site is running the expected plugin version.
  • Check whether the issue remains with cache disabled or cleared.
  • Test with a valid WhatsApp URL.
  • For Pro issues, confirm that the free plugin is active and the Pro license screen shows an active or grace state.
  • For targeting issues, provide the page URL and the include/exclude rule being tested.

Report-a-Bug modal in the free plugin

The free plugin includes an administrator-only Report-a-Bug modal on the settings page. Nothing is sent until an administrator clicks Send. The modal can include a subject, message, optional reply-to email, optional screenshots, and optional diagnostics that are visible before submission.

Every report is written to a bounded local log on the customer site. If the remote receiver is unavailable, the plugin reports that honestly and keeps the local record instead of pretending the remote dispatch succeeded.

  • Receiver endpoint: https://projects.markas.cloud/wp-json/markas/v1/plugin-bug.
  • Local log option: tlkd_feedback_log.
  • Local history is capped to 50 reports; the modal lists up to 20 recent entries.
  • Attachments stored in the local log keep metadata only, not base64 image data.
  • Dispatch success requires a 2xx response from the receiver.

Attachment and diagnostic limits

The Report-a-Bug modal accepts only image screenshots and applies both per-file and combined payload limits. This keeps support useful without encouraging unsafe or oversized uploads.

Optional diagnostics are limited to environment information that helps reproduce technical issues. They do not automatically include the admin email, user accounts, active plugin list, license inventory, or the site URL as JSON fields unless the administrator types relevant information into the report.

  • Maximum 3 images per report.
  • Allowed image types: PNG, JPEG, GIF, and WebP.
  • Maximum 5 MB per image.
  • Combined raw attachment payload limit: 8 MB.
  • Diagnostics can include plugin version, WordPress version, PHP version, MySQL version, active theme name/version, locale, multisite flag, and memory limit.

TalkDock Pro support topics

For Pro support, include the license state shown on the License tab, but do not paste the full license key into ordinary support messages. A visible key prefix is usually enough to identify the license when combined with context.

For offline leads and analytics, clarify whether the issue is local storage, CSV export, deletion, optional email notification, or optional third-party event firing.

  • License activation, refresh, deactivate, expired, invalid, inactive, or grace state.
  • Business hours timezone and schedule boundary behavior.
  • Agent routing, avatar display, and per-agent WhatsApp links.
  • Targeting include/exclude matches by ID or URL pattern.
  • Local analytics, GA event configuration, Meta event configuration, and CSV export.
  • Offline lead form submission, local storage, admin notification email, review, export, and delete actions.

Responsible support boundaries

Support can help with TalkDock configuration, reproducible plugin issues, compatibility questions, and clear documentation gaps. It does not replace legal advice, privacy compliance review, WhatsApp account support, theme customization projects, or emergency incident response unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.

  • Do not submit malware or exploit payloads through normal support forms.
  • Do not include customer records unless absolutely necessary and appropriately redacted.
  • Use clear screenshots that hide private information.
  • One issue per report is preferred whenever possible.
