Product status and dependency

TalkDock Pro 1.1.6 is an add-on for the free TalkDock plugin. It does not replace the free plugin; it hooks into the free plugin settings, frontend rendering, shortcode output, and admin tabs after TalkDock is active.

The Pro add-on requires TalkDock 1.1.6 or newer. If the free plugin is missing or outdated, Pro shows an administrator notice instead of silently pretending that premium features are available.

  • Pro adds dedicated admin tabs for license, business hours, agents, targeting, analytics, embed guidance, and offline leads when applicable.

License activation and local verification

The Pro license screen accepts a Markas Studio license key, verifies the site with the Markas license API, stores a protected local license envelope, and refreshes license status through a scheduled heartbeat.

The local license state uses a signed envelope and protected site secret. A 48-hour grace behavior is used for transient license-server errors, while expired, inactive, or invalid license states keep premium features locked.

  • License actions include activate, heartbeat, refresh, and deactivate.
  • Activation payload can include license key, normalized site URL, plugin slug, plugin version, WordPress version, PHP version, and environment hash.
  • High-security installs may define TLKD_PRO_SITE_SECRET in wp-config.php with a unique 64+ character random value; otherwise Pro generates a protected local site secret during activation.

Business hours and offline lead capture

Business hours let the site define when the WhatsApp chat path should behave as live. The weekly scheduler uses the selected timezone, supports every day of the week, and treats the configured end time as exclusive.

Outside the open schedule, Pro can show an offline lead form instead of sending visitors directly to WhatsApp. Submitted leads are stored locally on the customer site and can optionally trigger an email to the site administrator.

Multiple agents and departments

Agent routing lets teams offer more than one WhatsApp destination. Each valid agent can have a name, title, department, avatar URL, and WhatsApp link. The admin interface lets cards be reordered so the first valid agent becomes the default destination.

Agent data is sanitized before saving. Rows without the required name and WhatsApp link are ignored, and the stored list is capped for predictable performance.

  • Per-agent WhatsApp links can use wa.me, api.whatsapp.com, or web.whatsapp.com.
  • Avatar URLs can be HTTP or HTTPS URLs chosen by the site administrator.
  • Frontend routing falls back to the default WhatsApp link when no selected agent link is available.

Targeting rules

Page-level targeting controls exactly where TalkDock appears. Pro can evaluate the current post or page ID and the request URL path, including simple wildcard patterns.

Rules are evaluated in a predictable order so administrators can use broad defaults and specific exceptions without editing theme code.

  • Show everywhere unless excluded.
  • Only show on included pages or URL patterns.
  • Hide on excluded pages or URL patterns.
  • Post/page ID fields support comma or whitespace separated IDs.
  • URL pattern fields support one pattern per line and * as a wildcard.

Analytics and conversion events

Pro tracks TalkDock clicks locally in WordPress so administrators can review basic performance without relying on a third-party analytics account. The analytics screen supports range tabs, a daily chart, total clicks, today/yesterday cards, per-agent breakdown, and CSV export.

Optional conversion events can be sent to Google Analytics or Meta Pixel only when the site already loads gtag or fbq. TalkDock Pro does not install those analytics platforms by itself.

  • Local click history is kept to the most recent 90 days.
  • Admin ranges: last 7, 30, or 90 days.
  • Per-agent totals are recorded when agent routing is used.
  • Click analytics includes abuse-prevention controls.
  • GA event name and category are configurable; default event name is talkdock_click.
  • Meta event name is configurable; default event name is TalkDockClick.

Greetings, styles, consent, and motion

TalkDock Pro can add a dismissible greeting bubble above the floating button, including a typing indicator, delay setting, and once-per-session behavior. It can also change the button shape from the classic round button to a pill or soft square treatment.

For privacy-sensitive regions or regulated messaging flows, administrators can enable a consent prompt before redirecting visitors to WhatsApp. Pro also unlocks twenty additional motion styles beyond the free bounce, pulse, shake, and none choices.

  • Custom pill label.
  • Consent prompt with administrator-controlled text.
  • Premium motion styles: soft glow, float, heartbeat, wobble, swing, tada, jello, breath, slide up, pop, ripple, tilt, flip, rotate, buzz, expand, squeeze, shimmer, wave, and orbit.

Inline embeds and Gutenberg block

The free plugin already provides [talkdock_button]. With Pro active, [talkdock_button inline="yes" label="Chat with us"] renders a styled inline CTA using the saved TalkDock design and Pro rendering layer.

Pro also registers a dynamic Gutenberg block named TalkDock Button. The block supports label, agent index, and style attributes and renders through server-side TalkDock output rather than a static editor-only mockup.

Safe expectations

TalkDock Pro adds business and conversion controls, but it does not guarantee custom development, emergency support, compatibility with every theme or plugin, uninterrupted availability of WhatsApp, or successful delivery of third-party analytics events.

Site owners remain responsible for their own privacy notices, consent wording, customer communication rules, analytics configuration, and WhatsApp or Meta compliance.

  • No claim of official affiliation with WhatsApp, Meta, WordPress, Google, or WooCommerce.
  • Free features are not intentionally disabled merely because Pro is absent.
  • Commercial terms shown at checkout or subscription time control the transaction.

License and package integrity safeguards

TalkDock Pro includes safeguards that help site owners recognize unexpected changes to the Pro package and license environment.

These checks are designed for visibility and safer support conversations without interrupting normal site operation.

  • Alerts for unexpected Pro package changes.
  • License-state visibility for authorized administrators.
  • Support-friendly status information without exposing visitor data.

Data cleanup on uninstall

TalkDock Pro respects owner choice when it comes to data retention. Site owners can choose whether Pro-specific data should be removed during uninstall.

  • Data is preserved by default to reduce accidental loss.
  • Full cleanup can be enabled intentionally before uninstalling Pro.
  • Owners should export any records they need before choosing full cleanup.
